Community Based Program

Disability, Dog, Happy Family, Pet

ICS recognizes the importance of community integration and independence for individuals with intellectual disabilities. The Community Based Program of ICS Day Support offers daily opportunities for individuals to actively participate in the community through enjoyable and engaging ways. This program is geared towards higher functioning individuals that are willing to participate in a variety of activities. Services are designed to support individuals in becoming active, healthy, community members. Individuals taking part in this program are in a community setting 80% the time, while 20% of the time is spent at the ICS Day Support Center.

Activities are designed to work on personal goals in settings that promote learning, independence, exploration, cooperation and teamwork. Our staff supports individuals in utilizing their social, problem solving, and functional skills while participating in recreational and educational activities, events, clubs, fitness centers, forums, shopping, volunteering, and public transportation.
